What is in it

Plum

Organic plum fruit extract. Antioxidant and mildly conditioning — a lighter-touch active for a scalp that can't take much else.

Aloe

Used as the water phase rather than as a claim. Hydrating and calming from the first ingredient down.

Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol comes from the seeds of the babchi plant, Psoralea corylifolia, and is not a retinoid. It asks skin for the same things retinol does — smoother texture, softer fine lines, a more even tone — without the dryness and peeling that make people quit retinol. In a small twelve-week trial against retinol it matched it on lines and pigmentation, and skin tolerated it better. That is why it can go on every morning and every night, and why it is the active in BAKUCHI.

Rosehip

Cold-pressed, high in linoleic acid. Works on texture and elasticity over weeks, not overnight.

Jojoba

Technically a wax ester, and close enough to skin's own sebum that it absorbs instead of sitting on top. Conditions without the grease.

Marine active

The marine active. A ferment of a deep-sea bacterium, used here for skin texture — the reason this cream reads as smoothing rather than only moisturising.

Hyaluronic acid

Humectant; pulls water into the upper layers and holds it there, so skin reads plump rather than merely damp. Used here at multiple molecular weights so it works at more than one depth.

Lingonberry

Organic Nordic berry, antioxidant-rich. Sits with black currant and elderberry in the base doing environmental-defence work.

The ritual

Morning and evening. FLUX on damp skin, rinse. BAKUCHI, three drops pressed in. HELIOS over it in the morning; SOMNUS at night if you have it, otherwise BAKUCHI alone is enough. On ACIES nights, skip BAKUCHI.
