Three actives. Fifteen ingredients in all.
Lavender water·Cucumber·Salicylic acid
Not sure it's right for your skin? Four questions — Daddy will tell you.
The step most people skip is the one that keeps oily skin honest. After cleansing, the surface is either slightly alkaline and about to overproduce, or it's been reset. SICCUS resets it.
Organic lavender flower water and cucumber on a light alcohol base, with salicylic acid — the oil-soluble one — to get into the pore and lift what's clogging it: sebum, dirt, the residue a cleanser leaves. Sweet flag root and a rhamnose-glucose complex calm the skin on the way out; betaine and glycerin put moisture back. It removes the excess without removing the barrier, brings the skin back to its natural pH, and leaves it fresh, clear, and supple rather than tight — which is the difference between a toner that manages oil and one that provokes it. No added fragrance.
Splash, press, move on. The pores stay in line.
What it does
- Removes excess impurities and sebum
- Helps clear pores of dirt
- Maintains the skin's natural pH
- Refreshes and moisturises; skin left fresh and supple
- Fragrance-free
What is in it
- Betaine
Sugar-beet humectant. Draws in moisture and takes the edge off surfactants, which is why a wash built on it rinses without that tight, squeaky finish.
- Lavender flower water
Organic lavender flower water. Calming and mildly antiseptic — standing in for part of the water phase in a purifying toner.
- Cucumber
Organic cucumber fruit extract. Cooling and hydrating — the classic counterbalance to a toner built to purify.
- Salicylic acid
A BHA, oil-soluble where glycolic is water-soluble — works inside the pore rather than just on the surface, which is what a purifying toner actually needs.
How to use
Morning and evening, after cleansing. Splash into the hands and press over the face, or apply with a cotton pad on days the skin's produced more than usual. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. Follow with serum and a light cream — PREBIOTIC ONE and BASIS for combination skin. On ACIES nights, skip it.
Toner is the step that keeps oily skin honest. After cleansing, press it on with clean palms or a cotton pad and let it dry down before anything else goes on. Start with a few evenings a week and let the skin tell you if it wants more.
