What is in it

Blackberry

Organic blackberry fruit extract. Antioxidant and mildly astringent — doing real work in a mousse built to purify without stripping.

Sage

Organic sage leaf extract. The traditional reach for oily, blemish-prone skin — cooling, mildly antibacterial.

Burdock

Organic burdock root extract. The old herbalist's answer to congested skin, still doing the same job in a modern wash.

Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol comes from the seeds of the babchi plant, Psoralea corylifolia, and is not a retinoid. It asks skin for the same things retinol does — smoother texture, softer fine lines, a more even tone — without the dryness and peeling that make people quit retinol. In a small twelve-week trial against retinol it matched it on lines and pigmentation, and skin tolerated it better. That is why it can go on every morning and every night, and why it is the active in BAKUCHI.

Rosehip

Cold-pressed, high in linoleic acid. Works on texture and elasticity over weeks, not overnight.

Jojoba

Technically a wax ester, and close enough to skin's own sebum that it absorbs instead of sitting on top. Conditions without the grease.

Horse chestnut

Horse chestnut seed extract.

Ginkgo

At 1%. Antioxidant and circulatory support, sitting under the peptides.

Betaine

Sugar-beet humectant. Draws in moisture and takes the edge off surfactants, which is why a wash built on it rinses without that tight, squeaky finish.

The ritual

Morning and evening. PURGO lathered over damp skin, rinse. A few drops of BAKUCHI pressed in. IRIS tapped along the orbital bone with the ring finger. Finish with a moisturiser, and sunscreen every morning — bakuchiol is gentle, but glow work still wants protecting. BAKUCHI can go morning or night; skip it the night you use a stronger peel.
