How to wear+
Pulse points. Two sprays, maybe three. Skin, not clothes — the animalic base wants warmth to open up. Evening. Autumn and winter. Extreme intensity, long wear — don't reapply.
The drydown
- Top
Birch Tar · Black Pepper
Birch tar, smoky and faintly medicinal — the note perfumers reach for when they want a fragrance to smell like it's been somewhere. Black pepper keeps the opening from getting comfortable.
- Heart
Tuscan Leather · Tobacco
Tuscan leather raw, close to the hide — leather as injury, not texture. Tobacco drier and ashier than the pipe-tobacco cliché.
- Base
Castoreum · Oud · Dark Musk
Castoreum warm and unmistakably alive under oud's dark resinous depth, with dark musk reading as skin after everything else has worn off.
Why the first run is the only run
Sigma was built first as the scent of Daddy Jo itself — diffused through the building, zone by zone, so the space would smell like a decision. The Parfum is that same composition, concentrated, for the body.
This is the first pressing. Made once, in full, and not again in this form. When it's gone, the door closes — not as urgency theatre, but because that is literally what a first pressing is.
I don't wear leather. I wear what leather remembers.
This one made the cut because it doesn't try to smell expensive — it smells earned. Tuscan leather that hasn't been tamed yet. Tobacco like the last one before you finally leave. Birch tar doing the thing birch tar does, which is remind you that beautiful and clean are not the same word.
Most "leather fragrances" are cologne wearing a leather jacket. Sigma is the jacket.
The gold drip on the bottle isn't packaging. It's a confession. Some of us are opulent because we're wounded, not in spite of it — and I wasn't about to let a perfumer sand that down into something inoffensive.
Verdict: Not for every day. Not for everyone. For the days you want the room to remember you left.
