A room built the way a life is: candlelight over screens, worn-in leather over precious surfaces, and nothing here that hasn't earned its place.
This room isn't a showroom. It's not a mood board. It's built the same way a life gets built — one good thing at a time, kept because it earned its place, not because it matched.
Some of these are linked, and Daddy earns a little if you buy through them. Nothing got into this room that way.
The fireplace does the real work here — candlelight over screens, always. Fourteen brass candlesticks, no two alike, Sweden circa 1950, clustered like they've always stood exactly there. A little wear is proof of a life well lived — not a reason to replace it.
Above it, a face carved in clay — Jonathan Adler, surrealist, watching the room. Beside him, framed like they belong in a gallery because they do: two men, painted in oil, unguarded. Bartosz Kolata's confident heat on one wall. Rick Sindt's quieter, more private truth on the other — the parts of gay intimacy nobody used to hang in a hallway. We make room for the imperfect. Scuffs, stories, mistakes — they belong to the house.
The bar shelves hold the collection Daddy's actually built over years of travel: Murano next to clear Baccarat, crystal decanters catching the low light, none of it matching on purpose. A small Cartier clock — lapis lazuli, gold, still wound by hand — sits on a stack of books instead of a nightstand, because a house doesn't need separate rooms for beautiful things. It just needs honesty about where they land.
On the marble table: a Helmut Newton book, a bronze figure standing guard, whiskey glasses already used. We choose substance over spectacle. Good materials, good instincts. If it needs a gimmick to matter, it doesn't belong here.
Green velvet. Cognac leather. A coat thrown over the sofa arm like someone just got home. We are particular, not precious. Live with the things you love instead of putting them away.
This is what beauty actually looks like when it isn't performing for anyone — not skin deep, structural. Built the same way, all the way down.
A house should have a point of view. Not a showroom. Unmistakably yours.
