Gloss is a two-step job, and this is step one. THE SHAMPOO — GLOSS cleans without stripping — the fastest way to lose shine is a harsh wash — and starts smoothing the cuticle while it does it. Betaine softens, hydrolyzed wheat protein reinforces the strand, and organic black tea and blueberry cover the antioxidant side. Hair comes out clean, smooth, and primed, not squeaky and roughed-up.

The scent is smoky green vetiver: lemon and juniper up top, patchouli and cedar underneath — the same fragrance as the conditioner, built to layer. Organic aloe base, COSMOS Natural, non-GMO. Follow with THE CONDITIONER — GLOSS and the shine does the rest.

What it does

What is in it

Aloe leaf juice

Used as the water phase rather than as a claim. Hydrating and calming from the first ingredient down.

Betaine

Sugar-beet humectant. Draws in moisture and takes the edge off surfactants, which is why a wash built on it rinses without that tight, squeaky finish.

Hydrolyzed wheat protein

Small enough to cling to the hair shaft, where it adds body. The volume in a 2-in-1 comes from here, not from stripping.

Blueberry fruit extract

Organic. The fruit, not the seed — rich in the same pigment that turns the berry blue, and an antioxidant for hair that lives in the city.

Black tea

Organic black tea leaf extract. Tannin-rich and antioxidant — shows up in both a clarifying mask and a shampoo for the same reason.

How to use

Massage into wet hair and scalp, work to a light lather, rinse thoroughly. Repeat if needed. Follow with THE CONDITIONER — GLOSS through mid-lengths and ends. Avoid contact with the eyes.
