SHIELD — Oil-Free Hydrating Gel
Four actives. Twenty-one ingredients in all.
Hyaluronic acid·Betaine·Watercress·Zinc PCA
Not sure it's right for your skin? Four questions — Daddy will tell you.
Zero oil, and a generous dose of hyaluronic acid.
Aloe juice carries the water phase. Betaine, watercress extract and hyaluronic acid coat the skin with hydration that leaves it plump and fresh, with nothing heavy left on top. Made for oily to combination skin — the skin that gets told to skip moisturiser, and ends up thirstier for it.
What it does
- Moisturises with zero oil
- Hyaluronic acid leaves skin plump and fresh
- Betaine and watercress extract support the hydration
- Made for oily to combination skin
What is in it
- Hyaluronic acid
Humectant; pulls water into the upper layers and holds it there, so skin reads plump rather than merely damp. Used here at multiple molecular weights so it works at more than one depth.
- Betaine
Sugar-beet humectant. Draws in moisture and takes the edge off surfactants, which is why a wash built on it rinses without that tight, squeaky finish.
- Watercress
Organic. Mineral-dense botanical support in the water phase.
- Zinc PCA
Zinc pca.
- Aloe leaf juice
Used as the water phase rather than as a claim. Hydrating and calming from the first ingredient down.
How to use
Morning and evening, on clean skin. A small amount, pressed in until absorbed. Follow with sunscreen by day.
Oily skin and thirsty skin are not opposites, and most men are never told so. Water without oil is the whole answer, and this is it. Under sunscreen in the morning, by itself at night.
