Description
Two hands, one bouquet, drawn in the time it takes to say it. Picasso made this in July 1958 for a peace demonstration in Stockholm; the original was a watercolour lithograph, printed by Schuster in Paris. You'll see it called Hands with Flowers, Flowers and Hands, Hands with Bouquet — same picture, and every name is a description because the picture doesn't need one.
It's the softest thing in the edit. Somebody is handing somebody else flowers, and you're wearing it, so the somebody is you.
Daddy wears this one in summer with nothing over it: light jeans or white trousers, the BYMANYC sneakers, the horn-rims. No oxford, no long sleeve — it's a warm-weather shirt, and it reads as a compliment to whoever's standing next to you.
The shirt itself is the good kind of basic: combed ring-spun cotton, preshrunk, side-seamed so it hangs straight, taped shoulders so the collar doesn't twist after the fortieth wash. It fits like the tee you've had for ten years, on day one.

This is the tee to wear to the thing where you're bringing flowers anyway.
