Vinyl Record Made of Paint in Purple Tones T-Shirt
The only thing in this edit that is not a famous artwork: a record, rendered in scattered paint, in purples that run from ink to lilac.
It earns its place by being the one graphic here you can wear without a conversation attached. No artist, no date, no story anybody expects you to know — just a good shape and a colourway that most men do not own and should. A circle is the easiest thing in the world to put on a chest and one of the hardest to make interesting.
Daddy owns a great deal of black and a great deal of white, and buys a colour roughly once a year. This was the purchase.
The shirt itself is the good kind of basic: combed ring-spun cotton, preshrunk, side-seamed so it hangs straight, taped shoulders so the collar doesn’t twist after the fortieth wash. It fits like the tee you’ve had for ten years, on day one.
How to wear it
On its own, with grey or stone trousers. Let the colour be the loudest thing you are doing.
Purple is the whole point. Do not bury it under a navy jacket.
