Banksy Wet Dog Splatter 2007 Street Art T-Shirt
Short description (listing line)
Banksy Wet Dog Splatter, 2007 — street art on a 100% combed ring-spun cotton crew-neck tee. Unisex, preshrunk, Oeko-Tex certified. The rude dog.
Description
A dog shaking itself dry, and the wall paying for it. Banksy stencilled the dog and let the paint do the rest — the whole figure is the splatter, flung outward like water off a coat. It's one of his gentler jokes, which is to say it's still a joke about making a mess in public and not apologising.
That's the shirt. Daddy owns three dog tees and this is the one for days he's feeling less polite. Basic long sleeve underneath, the Gucci loafers or the Brooklyn Bliss on his feet, no oxford over it — the splatter needs room. Let the shake do the talking.
The shirt itself is the good kind of basic: combed ring-spun cotton, preshrunk, side-seamed so it hangs straight, taped shoulders so the collar doesn't twist after the fortieth wash. It fits like the tee you've had for ten years, on day one.
Curator's note
This one's busy, so wear it alone or under a plain long sleeve — not under a striped shirt. One pattern per outfit, and the dog is the pattern.
